What Happened to Tikisha King?
According to Houston police, Tikisha King was working at Ralston Discount Beverages, located on South Post Oak Road near Beltway 8, when her ex-boyfriend, Michael Dewayne Wilkerson, entered the store and fatally shot her.
Surveillance footage revealed that Wilkerson followed King into the store and shot her multiple times, including four shots to her back. He then discarded the weapon in a bayou and attempted to conceal his involvement by disposing of his clothes nearby.
Details of the Arrest
Michael Wilkerson, 39, was arrested the following day after police linked him to the crime using interviews and photos of his license plate. Investigators learned that King had recently ended their relationship but had attempted to maintain a friendship with Wilkerson.
In his confession, Wilkerson admitted to the shooting, stating that he acted because he felt “disrespected.” He now faces charges of capital murder and tampering with evidence. He is currently being held without bond.
