After a courageous battle with ovarian cancer, Tracy left this world peacefully on October 29, 2024, at the age of 48, surrounded by her beloved family.
A Life Filled with Love
Born on July 18, 1976, in Sudbury, Ontario, to Larry and Ginette Spooner, Tracy brought joy and light to her family and friends throughout her life. She married her soulmate, Paul Martin, on April 30, 1994, after meeting him while lifeguarding at Nickel District Pool. Their love story spanned over 30 years, marked by laughter, mutual support, and an unwavering commitment to each other and their family. Together, they raised four daughters—Abigail (Kevin Bowman), Kaylee (Ryan Hopcraft), Alexis (Justin Greig), and Kiandra (Zack Vokes)—whom Tracy treasured deeply.
As a grandmother, Tracy embraced her role with joy and dedication, doting on her grandchildren—Scotlyn, William, Charlotte, Raelyn, Everly, and Brynlee. She spent countless days creating cherished memories filled with warmth and laughter, making her “Nana” a beloved figure in their lives.
A Family Matriarch
Tracy’s love extended beyond her immediate family. She was the adored granddaughter of William (predeceased) and Elda Spooner, and Rolland and Jeannine Joyal (both predeceased). A beloved daughter-in-law to Dave and Heather Martin, Tracy enriched the lives of those around her as a sister to Lee-Ann Spooner (Ciaran McCarthy) and Tina (Matt Gardy), and as a sister-in-law to Brian Martin (Bryn), Steve Martin, and Tamara McDonald. As an aunt, she shared her warmth and nurturing spirit with Drake, Kaden, Chloe, Avery, Rowen, Aubrie, Benjamin, Brooklyn, and Tommy, leaving a lasting imprint on their lives.
From an early age, Tracy embodied selflessness and a remarkable capacity for love. Her dedication to family was evident in the unwavering support she offered to her loved ones, always prioritizing their needs and finding joy in selfless giving. A funeral service honoring Tracy’s life will be held at Port Elgin United Church, located at 840 Bruce St, Port Elgin, on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 11 a.m. Friends, relatives, and all who loved her are invited to pay their respects and celebrate her remarkable life.
Following the service, a celebration will take place at the Walker House, 146 High Street, Southampton, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Family and friends are encouraged to gather, share memories, and honor the extraordinary person Tracy was.
