Simple Red Velvet Cake Recipe

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

In a bowl, whisk 2 ½ cups of flour, 2 tbsp cocoa powder, and 1 tsp baking soda.

In another bowl, mix 1 ½ cups sugar, 1 cup oil, and 2 eggs until smooth.

Add 1 cup buttermilk, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 1 tbsp vinegar, and 2 tbsp red food coloring.

Slowly combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients.

Pour the batter into prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes.

Let cakes cool completely before frosting.
